And members should carefully consider what overt or repressed reason a psychiatrist would choose to label the dialogue of a group "babble" in the first place.

It's time to ignore Hsiung's desperate pleas for good faith and to look at him with the scrutiny one would properly afford anyone in a position of power.

We could set up committees to establish workers control over the distribution and exchange of all this knowledge that is the product of our intellectual labour. And link up with all those struggling against neoimperialism like al Zaqarwi.

Ed, I want to live in Babbleland and be the Queen and Babble all day long. How can we change the name. Give an example? Fondly, PJ O

Are you being serious? The board consists primarily of posts from members. The authority Dr. Bob exercises is minimal, and if you think it's excessive, you're free to start your own alternative discussion by creating a website or starting a Yahoo, Google, MSN or other group. Starting a group is really easy. But if you do this and you attempt to do it without some level of regulation, you'll find it degenerates very quickly into a kind of anarchy that provides no help to anyone. But perhaps you were speaking tongue-in-cheek. I hope so.

I reckon your being sarcastic but anyways I thought the term psychobabble was ironic, it means the nonsense that psychiatrists used to talk. I like it. Maybe for more irony it should be changed to what I think was Breggins term 'biobabble' - the language that gets used when discussing psychiatric meds and biological based mental illness. Buns

I like it...but what would you suggest? » ed_uk

I think the title is a gentle, clever tongue-in-cheek joke. It strikes a balance between too light and too serious. I don't take the word "babble" as a negative word.

I also thought Dr. Bob's survey (when you join) was clever, cute and well-designed, too. It made me smile right away, and gave me a good feeling about the site. (i.e, the site is in good hads.) I don't know him, but from the way the site is written, I think he had a good sense of humor & can use it well.

But I'm sure that I'd come to like other names too. this isn't the only one that could work.

What other names do you think would work? If you were given the chance to vote for a new name, what would you pick? If Dr. Bob ever does want to change the title, I hope he does a contest thingie where we all get to submit suggestions and vote on them! :)

Hi Buns!

>I thought the term psychobabble was ironic, it means the nonsense that psychiatrists used to talk.

I'd never really thought of it like that!

Kind regards
