limited praise for neuroleptics

this is random-ish, kind of off topic, but...

more and more, I have seen that I am fortunate to respond to 'standard treatment' (read: atypical tranquilizer), and I don't seem to have major, in your face adverse effects (no EPS, no TD, etc.).

I don't think I'm the only one, either. I sometimes complain about not being able to concentrate as well or a sort of low grade dysphoria, but...overall, Abilify is good to me. I'd kind of like to get the dose a bit lower, but that's always challenging. Maybe its the long half life, but...

its easy to make the dosage cut, but sticking with it is the hard part. Plus, I'd rather take the 20/abilify than be on a lower dose plus a handful of "extras," for my set of challenges. to each their own, of course. some people cannot handle much neuroleptic, or any at all, really.

I do wish there was a different way to handle more severe problems (read: how many dopamine blockers should really be on the market, all at the same time?), but...oh well. Maybe something miraculous will come out, one day (cue pensive, but hopeful, music).

I'm finished, now. :-)

major tranquilizers are good similar to minor but they help in psychosis and psychotic states. Benzos are preferred because the relaxation feeling. Major tranquilizers' reduce tension in mind, psychosis.

I've been on zyprexa 20mg, and now after time, it's equlibrium and i don't feel a hit when i take it. It's almost as it has no effect at all. Need to get off it, it makes me slow and less productive
