CBDA on 5-ht1a receptors

Posted by linkadge on November 22, 2020, at 16:46:27

Apparently CBDA (i.e. CBD before it has been cooked) is about 100 times more potent as an agonist of 5-ht1a receptors. CBD is a moderate 5-ht1a agonist, and (supposedly) CBDA is potent.

Normally, I decarb (cook) by CBD before consuming it. However, I am trying undecarbed CBDA to see what sorts of effects it might have on anxiety.

I've always wanted something like buspirone, but without the annoying noradrenergic metabolite.

I've taken both but never noticed a huge difference. (Unlike with activated THC. Which is THCA, isn't it?)

Maybe this is why my BP was down 10 points?

CBDA turns into CBD (with decarboxylation) similarly THCA turns into THC with decarboxylation.

I tried some CBDA (undecarbed high CBD tower strain) it did seem to have more of an anti-anxiety effect.

Here in Canada, where do you get CBDA? From your plants? Can you explain hoe that works?

Thanks...jay

So basically, if you buy any high CBD strain of (dry) cannabis, you're getting CBDA. Dry (herb) cannabis contains very little actual THC / CBD. It contains CBDA / THCA. It's only when you smoke / vape / cook it that it converts to THC / CBD.
