Feel Worse with TMS ???

Posted by PCB on June 9, 2020, at 19:31:25

Hey Everyone,

I have completed 5 sessions of TMS. I actually got one session 3 months ago before COVID, but I felt alittle agitated afterwards and stopped. Now after the 1st and 2nd session, i felt agitated and the 3rd, 4th and 5th session I feel slightly depressed. I have never heard of these side effects, but the TMS doctor switched me to bilateral TMS today. She said left TMS can cause anxiety and bilateral is better for that. The tech said some people have a mood dip in the beginning.

TMS is my last shot to get off Nardil, but I hate to think I am going to be depressed in bed for 6 weeks. Anyone heard about feeling worse with TMS?

Thanks!

By any chance are you left handed?

I read a report suggesting that (for left handers) the emotional hemispherical lateralization can be reversed (i.e. positive motivational emotions on the right side and inhibitory negative emotions on the left side).

I did TMS (with a homemade device long story) and noticed that sometimes it made my moods darker and a bit more serious.
