help, parnate stopped working

Posted by rose45 on May 7, 2020, at 8:52:42

Parnate has stopped working, and I can hardly function any more... cant read , or respond to people, im really ill. I need another maoi, but there are no more available in the uk where I live. Have been to a nhs doctor, who has put me on lamictal, even though im not bi polar.
I know another maoi would set me right, but none are available here. It is so scary.

Has this happened to anyone else ? Im still taking the parnate as it is so painful to come off it, but its not working and the anxiety is so strong, Im housebound and unable to communicate properly about anything apart from my illness.

these are 2 MAOI's that are not mainstream but can be used to treat depression, 1 of them are parkinson's disease drugs, but that also means increased dopamine similar to parnate

1. Moclobemide -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moclobemide
[antidepressant]

2. Rasagiline -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasagiline
[parkinson's disease, but used as AD]
