Nothing works for nerve pain, so this experience interested me.......

As for it working or not... I'm no Doctor but I am aware of what I take for pain control and what works for me. My original surgery was a lamenectomy to stop sciatica. I had for many years used anti-inflammatory drugs. They never quite stopped the pain. Spinal injections by a self styled pain control GP had some effect but it never lasted very long. I've formed the opinion now that there are two types of back pain. One is as a result of inflammation usually caused by narrowing of discs (slipped disk) and the other is just plain old back pain that can be treated with pain killers.

Anyone intending to 'try' PEA needs to be aware that it has the most effect where inflammatory pain is present. It is not in my opinion a 'pain killer' and it costs some serious money to keep buying it.

I was on 180 mg of Morphine daily for nearly 5 years. It didn't really stop the pain from several back operations and an infection of Golden Staph. The last surgery was monstrous. 2 steel rods, 12 bolts and several plates to hold fusion of L2, L3 L4, L5 and S1 and no... I can't do up my shoe laces now! I hope this answers some questions and opens the door to how to get it in Australia.

Well, I don't have any physical pain... I would be in it for the psychological effects. Less studied, but it may still work.

I am looking at several things right now. I am using monk fruit as of yesterday, I will start taking 3 divided doses of Trazodone during the day tomorrow, I will see a Chinese herbalist on Monday and I ordered this Palmitoylethanolamide stuff.

If I do everything at once I won't know which helps. Any tipps?

Maybe the latter two not at once?

Will post here if there is news with Palmitoylethanolamide

It seems to be good for neurons and inflammation in general.

I am about a week into 1200mg Palmitoylethanolamide. I feel better but there could be other reasons for this. I bought 60 pills and when they are gone I will see if feeling better abates if i don't take it or not. That's the only way to tell because I have changed several things at once.

Ok, the effect is very mild. It might enable me to study a little longer but if cost is an issue maybe there are better options. I have been taking it for 25 days.

I can't say I notice anything. Maybe it has been 14 days.

For a couple of months. There are 2 of us with pain or prospects for it, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Hi sigismund,

I am dieting successfully ever since I have started with the PEA! Maybe not a coincidence?

Palmitoylethanolamide: I have lost serious weight!

In reply to Re: Palmitoylethanolamide, posted by sigismund on December 29, 2019, at 0:08:17

So I have begun a diet and have lost 11 lbs. The start was concurrent with starting Palmitoylethanolamide. I am looking to lose another 22!
Is it possible that it helps me with this? Also I am a little more clear-headed and have a little more endurance studying!

Whats the science behind this?

Also concurrent with monk fruit which is a sweetener. Its pretty cool with no side effects!

Wow, that's a lot! Was it due to tolerance that you had to go so high?

I don't know what happened there.

The post you replied to wasn't written by me, even though it has my name on top.

I was completely wrong. I had quoted that from another's post without making it clear. We had a minor crisis here yesterday and I wasn't being attentive.

I think that it helped my elbow tendonitis. This time the measures I have taken (physiotherapy) were effective. When i had tendonitis before, they were not. I did not have to stop working out and other sports. I hope availability and price will improve.
