benzo's cpmpared

Posted by rjlockhart37 on January 22, 2020, at 14:51:40

currently i take diazepam for anxiety and shakes. Out of all the benzo's i've noticed its the most general, in its effects, it's very good for GAD ('generalized' anxiety disorder) it has some muscle relaxant, but the thing is....diazepam only it does for me is produce a calm or relief, other benzos like lorazepam and alrazolam had antidepressant, alrazolam had mild euphoric feelings. I was on xanax for 3 years, i took around 6mg. And acutally, i didnt use it for anxiety, i used it after a stress dday, i would come home and take it. Xanax makes sleepier, more tranquil calm. That's why it's preferred over the other benzos. Ativan just ... i remember i was taking court documents to working for family, i took 2mg of ativan, and it was like all this stress and dread lifted off me, i was relaxed in better mood. Diazepam have to say, is good med to take during the day for generalized anxiety. There's nothing special about it. It doesn't improve mood, only in higher doses which produces muscle relaxation. I don't see why people, or doctors see it as a abuse drug, yes you can over take it when for anxiety, but it does not have recreational properties, it's just a calm and relief.

I've taken clonazepam, that stuff is potent, if you need to get to sleep, take klonopin, but it is potent stuff, and it made me depressed. I've heard testimonies, stevie nicks was hooked on klonopin (what i read). But that stuff is not euphoric, it actually depresses mood. potent anti anxiety med, and also sleep. It treats mania, so it slows down neurotransmitters. Makes u depressed or feel dull

Anyone here have any comparison stories?

Became stocker broker many years ago and was required to go door to door. It was brutal so Dr. put me on valium,. then xanax, and then ativan.
Cominf off ativan thought they'd send me to the looney bin. Xanax was ok but I feeel valium workede the best and I've read is the least addictive.
In fact I read somewhere that "the only way valium would hurt you is if you got hit by a truck transporting valium."

Don't take my word for it. Others probably know much more than I about benzos.

yeah valium...you just feel calm and relieved during anxiety. Xanax has a euphoria to it, thats why its most liked. Valium is just .... valium, it's a general calm, it's best used during the day for generalized anxiety, like librium. Ativan is for emergencies and severe anxiety. I take valium and all i feel is just ... a general calm, there is nothing recreational about it.

You cannot extrapolate your experience to other people in general. I'm sure there are those who find diazepam recreational.

Clonazapam did not treat mania for me, if anything it made me more impulsive. It also was not good for sleep, but that is unsurprising because I was manic.

For sleep, I prefer midazolam (Dormicum). It's short-acting, so it doesn't make you tired the following day. I tried oxazepam and temazepam for sleep, but they were not good for this purpose. I also used zopiclone and zolpidem for sleep; the zolpidem worked all right at the time, but the zopiclone was useless.

No benzo has ever been recreational for me.

yeah, the only recreational one seems to be alprazolam, there's alot of benzo's that are not main stream, like bromazepam, Mexazolam but non of those have antidepressant properties. The only main reason i think why people like, is relaxation and relief. Higher doses are like having alcohol, you feel good and relaxed

diazepam is definitely not a recreational drug, only for relaxation but that's at higher doses

I think almost any benzodiazepine can be recreational, even though they aren't for me. For example, I know for certain that some people want temazepam and midazolam, both of which have zero recreational potential for me.
