reducing olanzipine then off

Posted by rjlockhart37 on January 13, 2020, at 20:57:18

i've moved down to 10mg, i was on 20, and at one time during a event i was taking 30mg. I notice im more talkative, and less free cloud ride that olanzapine sedation would give. I thought all these years why im talking so much, i thought i was impaired, it was the olanzapine that blunted some social motivation. Now that's it lowered im realizing more activity, added diazepam for anxiety, been on it for about 7 months. they say diazepam is long acting but in actual terms it only lasts 6-7 hours, then it fades but the metabolites are still there. It just relieves anxiety in general way, general calm, ativan was more for severe anxiety like events, alprazolam worked fast and eliminate panic attacks, it had antidepressant feeling, because it hits D2 receptors. But ... out of all the benzos i've been on, diazepam is the most general benzo there is, just a general calm, relief of anxiety and that's about it... 10mg makes me apathetic, and i have drink coffee to get out of a valium slump. You know people, say diazepam is drug of recreational, it really isn't, xanax and ativan have more recreational properties, it's like librium, but a bit a bit more enforcing

olanzapine withdrawal and reducement. I'm getting more social, and eventually we're gonna get off it, and increase seroquel to 800. At night. Hopefully it will head in a new direction

paticularly, i don't like seroquel, but it does make me sleep, but i take a high dose because were about to get off zyprexa, i've been on it for 10 years and it made me a social mute. Even though it has antidepressant properties, i need to change. So when cross titration has completed, i will no longer be antipsych during the day. Seroquel lasts 7 hours, and i not taking the seroquel xr form.

"Sero-stoned" is what it makes me feel like sometimees

my psych has said i had ... this is my main diagnosis that i know for a fact, i have attention and memory problems, and have anxiety during the day because of my inability to remember things and also handling multi-task. The reports had said i had some schizo s-hit disorder, that's not true, yes maybe i post some crazy stuff sometimes, but i know my difficulties and the reports don't. Their only scientific analysis, not evident truth.

I too am coming off of olanzapine. It was added when Nardil was causing a lot of insomnia. Im stopping because Im sleeping too much, and Im afraid its interfering with Nardil. The only withdrawal s/e I notice is waking during the night. I still take melatonin and that works for sleep.

Good luck with your taper!

thanks:)

im more social and active, olanzapine put me in a daze state, i felt stable but i didn't talk as much felt like mute or something. Now that levels have gone down, im more active and productive, more dopamine and serotonin. Still i do miss it's immediate effects of calmness and stability after a crazy day, excellent bipolar medication in stability

Wait for a couple of weeks before you continue to lower the dosage. Why did you take it in the first place?
