PROVIGIL

Posted by greg rizzo on January 9, 2020, at 21:25:00

Provigil, modafinil, nuvigil (extended release formula (all pretty much the same thing, were developed for narcolepsy (when people can't stay awake).
I have been using it for over a year and I cannot describe how truly amazing it is for depression. I am amazed more psych docs don't recommend it for other than narcolepsy,To save time just google it, but basically increases seratonin and dopamine. It works immediately, is entirely legal (usually need script but ways around that). Otherwise very expensive. Take early in am or you'll have trouble sleeping. I have told very few people about this drug--just joined psych-babble.
The source I use is a covert secret--"tell ya but then I'd have to kill ya." Kidding of
course!
On a scale of 1 to 10 for immediate relief of depression and more energy I give it a 10. It's that good.

i take nuvigil, i've tested the doses, provigil if you want to be active, peppy and talkative, provigil. To be more focused, yet alert, nuvigil is not as peppy like aas provigil. I found that out. Higher doses of armodafinil is dopamine reuptake inhibitor, provigil is more stimulating, but you can't sleep on it. You sleep on nuvigil, it's documented. Provigil is pep pill, nuvigil or armodafinil is not so much that, it just keeps you awake, and it's a mild to moderate dopamine reuptake inhibitor, if i want to do research a long time = nuvigil, if want to be peppy and gets things done - provigil

it's the same comparison to amphetamine, racemic amphetamine is energetic and active, dextroamphetamine is more psychoactive, but it's less stimulating because levoamphetamine is not included. Provigil is two isomers, s-modafinil, and r-modafnil, nuvigil is only r-modafnil, so that's a good comparison to ampetamine, dextroform is psychoactive, and the levo side is more psychially stimulating and hits more norepinephrine, your more on a roll, while dextroamphetamine is more focus

This is the third time you post this exact same thing about modafinil (Provigil). Why?

I already replied, at:

I was prescribed Nuvugil 7 years ago. I was not impressed. I now take Provigil every other day with fantastic antidepressant results. Because I'm a repid cycler and also have a high tolerance to meds I'm on a high dose of Provigil. Tried 200 mg--no results,. Tried 400 mg--no results. Finally at 600 mg per day it works great.
Yes, I know that's an extremely high dose and I recommend people start at 100 or 200mg per day and see how it goes.

As long as I take the Provigil before 8 am, I sleep like a log. No problems in that regard.

Hey guys,

I'm also taking 200mg Provigil and it helps for my TRD for a week or two and then my brain seemingly acclimates to it. Hence on a whim, whilst suffering, I took 400mg and BOOM - I felt actually OK, which never happens. This lasted for 6-7 hours, hence I repeated it the next day. And the next.

Skip forward 5 days and it's pooping out - as always. So I stopped taking it as there's no record of Provigil causing withdrawal. 2 days later and I'm catatonically depressed. I cannot move. I cannot think. I am feeling worse than Whale Shit (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=whale%20shit).

So I took 200mg Provigil and that, within 2 hours, lifted me right out of the catatonia.

TL;DR: Provigil is temporarily effective for me but DON'T quit Provigil cold turkey.

Cheers,
Pete

THERE ARE CONCERNS THAT YOU CAN BUILD UP A TOLERANCE TO PROVIGIL. SOME SOURCES SAY YES, OTHER SOURCES SAY NO.
All I can tell you is my experience with modafinil (pretty much same as provigil, just marketed differently so you can buy online without a script). My cost is a little less than $1 per 200mg pill. Unable to disclose source or I'd be in violation of this website's policies.
Anyway--I haven't built up a tolerance because I use it every other, or every 3rd day. Yeah I suffer a bit on days without it, but I don't want to risk building up a tolerance to it. Perhaps there is no risk to that happening, but I don't want to chance it.

yes, provigil i've taken it, it seems more of peppy like property, armodafinil just keeps you awake and somewhat focused on what your doing. It doesnt have the anti-depressant kick as provigil does, but at higher doses armodafinil is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, not a psychostimulant but i could definitely tell dopamine levels were increased. Provigil just....yeah it had a kick to it, nuvigil doesn't so much, it just all sudden realize your more awake and do things
