Silver Bullet Medication

Posted by PCB on December 29, 2019, at 22:20:35

Hey Everyone,

So as I mentioned I quit my job to see if my depression will improve. If this not helpful, I may do another med trial. I have failed Prozac, Zoloft, nortripline, imipramine, lamicital, lithium, parnate, desipramine, wellbutrin. Nardil with 450 lithium is working now. I did the pharmacogenic test which advise Pristiq, Viibryd and Cymbalta.

Does anyone know someone that fail multiple medications (more then 5) and eventually found an antidepressant that works extremely well. Hate to spend 10 weeks of my life on a trial if in reality I had failed so many drugs its fruitless to continue trials. Thanks!

What did the pharmocogenic test actually indicate? Was it drug metabolism by enzymes or a prediction of which drugs will work?

Trintellix (vortioxetine) is another drug to keep in mind. It has things in common with Viibryd (velazxodone), but has additional mechanisms.

Keep at it then!

What pharmacogenic test?

You don't know before you try. It's better to keep trying than to give up.

The only certain way to fail a trial is never to try at all!
