Memantine, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), xenon, phencyclidine (PCP), ketamine, dextromethorphan (DXM) and its metabolite dextrorphan. Amantadine a bit (memantine is dimethylamantadine).

I hate nitrous oxide. Neither here nor there, just saying.

I get glutamate mixed up with NMDA.

NMDA is a glutamate receptor.

> NMDA is a glutamate receptor.

Yes. It is named after an amino acid, N-Methyl-D-Aspartate, which is an agonist at the receptor.

There are also AMPA, kainate, and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Metabotropic is as opposed to ionotropic, and there are several subtypes of them.

Piracetam and the like wok on AMPA?

Reliably made me feel worse.

I don't know about piracetam, but aniracetam at least. I think that was kind of a prototype for the ampakines. There is some evidence that piracetam enhances acetylcholine.

The first time I tried piracetam, I seem to recall it made me a little irritable but at the same time, it was as if my mood was better.

As you'd know there is some argument about how acamprosate works......whether it is the Ca+ (which puzzled me) or whether it antagonises glutamate (I may be wrong).

It's of some use to help me to drink moderately long term. 2 about lunch time so I can wait until late afternoon.

Any comments?

I don't like acetylcholine increased or decreased. I either feel somewhat wired or hate the anticholinergic effect.

I forget what it was, a smart drug from years ago that was supposed to clear up cellular waste and therefore.......

Anyway I took that and it was a big race day. I had a tip and it almost made me manic. I didn't like it at all. Doubled the last bet and lost the lot.

I need something for my memory .
