Hello, all. I recently began brintellix at a dosage of 10 mg after having tried Paxil unsuccessfully for six weeks at a dosage of 60 mg. My pdoc recommended immediately cutting paxil to 30 mg for seven days while beginning the brintellix at 10 mg, then discontinuing paxil and increasing brintellix to 20 mg on day eight. I never thought to check interactions prior to but because of cyp interactions, paxil effectively doubles the dose of brintellix. I'm on day four of this regime and had some incredibly strange symptoms last night. Would it be better to discontinue paxil immediately and follow the initial schedule of brintellix? If I did have some transient serotonin syndrome symptoms, is it safe for me to continue on brintellix after the serotonin syndrome has passed? Thanks, all.

Its not that easy to get serotonin syndrome.
I would just stop the Paxil and start the Brintellix.
