Phentermine

Posted by uncouth on March 21, 2012, at 12:25:12

Doctor prescribed it for my antipsychotic induced weight gain but wow, it sure boosted my mood after first dose. After second dose it's not as antidepressant but i'm afraid it still might push me into hypomania. I am already taking wellbutrin and vyvanse! but id o need to lose 35 lbs which the doctor said would come off in 6 weeks, he also prescribed me byetta to help with the abdominal weight loss. excited!

does anyone have any experiences positive or negative with phentermine?

Well, I don't wish to be negative BUT....it's kind of awful stuff, amphetamine minus the good bit. Hard on the heart.

I found it improved mood a bit, but I was in my 20s. It would seriously f*ck me up now.

It should cut down your appetite.

ask for Bontril

because its at least 10x better. Schedule III drug, so you can get refills. There's a once daily 105 SR capsule. Both brand and generic are cheap.

I like it more than Adderall.

it's definitely working to surpress appetite, but i've started to feel very pronounced derealization. But that could be because i got a romantic rejection earlier this week. Or not. Does anyone know if the norepinephrine effect of phentermine could cause derealization? Or maybe it's the L-Tryptophan?

I'm gonna say what I said before, one more time: BONTRIL, 105mgs SR. You can get refills and its a lot smoother than phentermine.

amphetamines usually mean anxiety.
derealization == anxiety
I get weirded out when I take wellbutrin or any amphetamine. bad anxiety =(
You may want to look at topamax if the anxiety is intolerable and your health is at risk from being overweight.
for me, stimulants give me the munchies. I go into full carb-craving mode.
