Hello - I've tried this two times with two different neurologists. I'm sad to say that they had no positive effect on headache frequency, and only minimal postive effect on headache intensity. Of course, that's just me. My doctors have claimed better results for other patients.

<G> That's a good one!!

I do think my forehead had fewer wrinkles and I was unable to raise my eyebrows for a while after one of the treatments. Botox treatments (whether for wrinkle or headache elimination) only last a few months.

Best Regards,
Jim

Unfortunately I know I had some around my lips that crease from nose to mouth and it didn't last past the redness only a couple of days. Fondly, Phillipa

Tried one course of Botox injections for headaches and neck pain, up to and a little over the typical dose. Had no effect, in fact, made things worse as the neurologist injected mostly only one side. It made my other side tighten up more.

I've tried trigger point injections also, but it depends on who's doing it. If done correctly, they release my tight muscles. The only problem is that it doesn't last very long.

I've found a physical therapist who does a combination of myofascial release, massage, cranial sacral work and whatever else thrown in, and I get the same good response as I did with the trigger point injections. Same problem - doesn't last. But, if I don't go at least once a week or so, I get alot worse.

Have you tried a home traction device? Moist heating pad or iceing the neck (depending on what works for you)? Have you had an MRI to see if there are disk problems fueling the muscular tension? There may be underlying causes that you can work on.

Do you have a concurrent diagnosis? Anxiety? Fibromyalgia?
