I'm currently taking 150MG of Effexor XR.........I have been taking this for over 5 years. I just started 5 days ago taking Geodon starting at (1) 20MG pill a day. I can't seem to find a whole lot of info on people who have taken the two together. Has anybody noticed significant improvements after adding the Geodon? Has anybody seen Antideppresant qualitites from Geodon? I've seen many posts throughout the web claiming that it does seem to show Antideppresant qualities even taken alone. Finally, has anbody noticed improvements in Obsessive Thoughts and Rumination after taking the Geodon in addition to Effexor or even by itself?

I took Geodon for about a year. It is the best anti-depressant i have ever taken. It has true SNRI properties. It was also good for OCD. I had to stop taking it because it caused me to gain a lot of weight. I believe my weight experience is atypical, in that the literature indicates that it is supposed to be weight neutral.

What dosage of Geodon were you taking?
I'm sorry that you had to discontinue it. Drugs can be such a pain in the neck, to say the least. If at some point in the future you feel you have no choice but to return to Geodon, you can try taking amantadine along with it to attempt to prevent weight gain. It seems to work with Zyprexa.
What are you taking right now?

That's great to hear that it worked very well. Did you also take an Antideppresant med along with it such as Effexor or anything else? Also, what dosage level did were you taking when you saw the best results with Geodon?
