quick update

Posted by Spriggy on March 16, 2005, at 11:16:44

Got home last night from being with my father. They say it can be anywhere from NOW until 3 months. I stayed as long as I could, seeing I have two chidren of my own.

I had a good visit with him. He was alert a good percent of the time, he was able to write out a "blessing" for me and my kids' since he doesn;t know if he has a tomorrow.

Interesting news with me; while there, the Hospice nurses noticed how shakey I was in the mornings (I told them anxiety!). They decided to monitor my blood sugar.

My bloog sugar was from between 65-80 in the mornings, i would eat- it would hit 160-180, it would drop down around 70 again, and in the afternoon's would sometimes be around 220.

So... the Hospice nurses think I could be a diabetic.

I am headed to the dr. now for a fasting blood test- they've never given me one before. They just drew blood before and said it was fine.

If it is diabetes, it might explain a WHOLE lot of things; and possibly even this anxiety issue has been a blood sugar issue.

We shall see.

I'll update you more when I return.

Welcome Home Spriggy! I'm glad your visit went well, and your Dad is still with us. It sounds like you may be diabetic. If you are that would definitely explain your anxiety. Low Blood sugar causes it. I think it's great that the Nurses took the time to look out for you too. I know how busy they can be. Your Dad must be in a good Hospital. Fondly Phillipa
