Wellbutrin might be a good choice for what you are talking about. What other meds have you tried? What types of conditions do you suffer from?

I've been on Wellbutrin almost a year now. It definitely helped with energy, SSRIs just about made me bed-ridden. But WB seemed to have the opposite effect, and I started having anxiety problems for the first time in my life. It took about 6 months to calm down, and I still have anxiety from time to time, but I am terrified to give up WB because it keeps me from being suicidal.

Soooooo, WB might be a good choice for you to help with energy. Just be aware of anxiety issues, and I take my 2nd pill of the day around 2pm so it doesn't interfere with sleeping at night.

Good luck!

Woolav,

Wellbutrin WILL help with energy, as you said in previous posts that you are tired constantly, mainly from paxil and XANAX!

Wellbutrin IS NOT a social anxiety medication, it is a stimulating medication mainly for motivation in depressed individuels. Now, if you just take Wellbutrin by itself, it will may the anxiety worse, from again its stimulating properties, but if you stay on xanax with it, this should equally level your energy to normal. I defintly would not give advice to take Wellbutrin by itself it you have social anxiety, that would be torchure.

Tell him that you heard wellbutrin helps with energy, and you think it will help, but you want to continue Xanax to keep excess anxiety down.

Ok?

Take Care

Matt

Thanks everyone. I know its not for social anxiety, but paxil, zoloft, effexor or celexa has helped anyway. the only thing paxil did was make me not care about what ppl think, but i still dont feel "social", plus its made me fat!! I have only technically only been diagnosed with depression (the kind that lasts for years) and social anxiety. But I hope that with the wellbutrin and zanax that it will work. I am so tired of trying different drugs that eventually stop working.

I meant to say paxil, zoloft, effexor, serzone and celexa, have NOT worked good for me.

wellbutrin is definitely helping me - effexor was a nightmare. well first i was a zombie, then it became a nightmare when i tried to wake up.

i think the wellbutrin makes me edgy, but right now edgy beats suicidal, hands down. i'm taking xanax, too. that's a bit of a bummer as i know i've become dependent on it. but again, i'm getting my life together (finally) so i'll take these side effects, happily almost even.

it's also nice to have a sex drive again - even if it does get me in trouble from time to time...

good luck!

Good, this all sounds like you have a plan.

Tell us how the first week goes, or even the first day, i felt funky the first day on it, "wired" feeling, so rerember to take that Xanax if this occurs, with it.

Cheers,

Matt

I started on wellbutrin sr 100mg today and it made me incredibly tired. I don't have any of the energy you all are talking about!
