I experienced horrible restless legs while taking effexor. I took it for about 2 years and the restless legs finally got so bad that I felt exhausted from the waist gown. My legs we constantly moving. If I sat down or lay down they were constantly moving as if I was walking. When I went to bed they were moving even while I slept. My doctor tried to brush it off every time I mentioned it to him saying it maybe caused from other problems. But when I finally stopped taking the effexor the restless legs ceased to bother me. Has any one else had the restless legs this bad?

Yes--from Effexor. What has helped me is to lower the dose and combine with another antidepressant and take a low dose of a benzo before bed. Also, per advice I got here at PB, I take calcium supplements a few hours before bed. Exercise and stretching the backs of the legs also helps.
