SUCCESSFUL COCKTAIL TREATMENT OF OCD 2 June 2003

Posted by freedom2001 on June 2, 2003, at 4:30:47

Well,

guess what! My friends, after weeks of wicked experimentation. My OCD is now under 85%-98% control, which is a tremendous improvement over the previous 70%.

I wish to share my cocktail treatment with you.

Morning
Cereals
60 mg Prozac
1 mg clonazepam

800 mg calcium
300 magnesium
10 mg zinc
1000 mg fish oil (500 mg EPA + 300 mg DHA)

Afternoon
Lunch
2 bananas (equivalent to 800 mg potassium)

Evening
20 mg prozac
1 mg clonazepam
800 mg calcium
300 mg magnesium
10 mg zinc
1000 mg fish oil (500 mg EPA + 300 mg DHA)

Night
either 3 xanax or 1 trazodone for sleep

This combination, using drug and natural elements, though potent, still wouldn't cure the OCD as the root cause has not been established.

I followed this regimen with lots of PRAYERS.

Comments, opinions, feedback are all welcome.

Thanks and may God continue to bless and heal you in His own special manner,
Freedom2001.

It is good to see somebody doing well. Many people do not realise that OCD is a terrible condition causing enormous distress and disability.
The Prozac seems to be working well here at a full dose of 80mg daily.Omega-3 fish oil can be an invaluable extra and in my experience it can have an enormous effect on some patients, although some of them have to use a far higher dose (some up to 10g daily) than you.It might be worthwhile increasing the fish oil to reduce the benzodiazepines though.

Ed:

This is a bit off-topic from the other poster. I've experimented a lot with Andrew Stoll's Omegabrite product from doses of 2 to 4 grams per day to treat my anxiety disorder but have never had any luck. It sounds like you have some experience with fish oil. I'm just curious: Is there a safe, cheaper brand that I could experiment with up to 10 grams daily? I'd love to get some anti-anxiety relief from fish oil, but so far, it hasn't done a darn thing for me. Or perhaps I need to supplement with something else in addition to the fish oil?

Hi,

What/how does the omega-3 fish oil help w/ OCD? Does it also help w/ general anxiety and depression?

I take Udo's Choice Oil Blend..." a carefully blended mix of the finest Omega 3, 6 and 9 varieties of Essential Fatty Acid sources" just for general health/nutrition reasons.

hi, why would increasing the fish oil lead to a reduction of the benzo?

Thanks and best regards,

I think besides fish oil, take the following elements that calm your nervous sytems:
1 Calcium (800-1600 mg)
2 Magnesium (300-600 mg)
3 Zinc (10-20 mg)
4 Vitamin C (2000 mg time release) - preferably with bioflavoids
5 High Concentration Fish Oil (mine is a 1000mg capsule that contains 500 mg EPA + 300 mg DHA)

These 5 Combined together, they seem to have a synergistic effect.

Remember your SSRIs/augmentation agent and CBT too!

Get Plenty of REST and SLEEP
Reduce STRESS
RELAX more!

God bless,

McPacster!,
Saw my doc today...I'm staying away from that stuff. He said he has noticed it worsens some probs after helping a while! Not good! You had any experience with it? If it causes spaciness I don't think this would be good for my derealization!

Take care bro!
