MY SWEET LITTLE NARDIL - I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by ace on February 9, 2003, at 19:31:57

Here's an update guys. (I just feel so great I have to wright this!)

Almost 10 weeks on Nardil, 3 of those weeks and 3 days on 90mg, and Nardil is working SUPREMELY.
My only beef is OCD, but I'm going to give it 14 full weeks for this. Ocd takes ages to treat with AD's for some reason.

Talk about an antidepressant...this chemical wonder is making me 100% motivated and happy. So much so that the only time I feel a tiny, tiny, tiny bit low is when I have to go to bed, because I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT DAY! I'm absolutely loving everything! Talking to peole, girls, doing my chores, life...the list goes on.

I cannot say enough goos things about this brilliant, brilliant drug. I RECCOMEND ANYONE WITH DPRESSION USE IT! It has also done wonders for my derealization, panic attacks, and phobic anxiety...boy I feel great.

I'm putting on weight, spending a lot of $ ( because I feel so good), and smoking a lot of ciggies (also because I feel so good).

Nardil dusts every other medication. PERIOD.
Any questions I'm happy to respond. You all rule!

All I'm left doing is walking down the street...repeating, Nardil, I love you, Nardil, I love you, Nardil, I love you...............

Hello Nardil lovers!

I live in Uk , I asked my doc about Nardil because of the posts here.
He said he and other docs don't prescribe it anymore.
Was used 15 years ago he said.
I'm just curious if it's just been used in your parts for a long time or recently been available.
Thanks.

I'm from Australia. It's used here but you have to get special permission from MD to get it. It is supplied by Link Pharmaceuticals. You could get it in the UK through this same company I assume. Everything should be dandy as candy.

Glad it's been effective for you. I've been on it 16years.
One caveat: be careful! It really sounds like you may be experiencing hypomania, a common reaction to nardil. I would feel so incredibly well, which was a sharp contrast to the depression, I loved it. But it tended to make me a little impulsive, spending money more, not sleeping for days on end. Sometimes one's judgement can be a little off with this euphoria.

Hi dreamerz,
Interested to read what your doctor told you about Nardil.
I live in UK and have been taking Nardil since November 2002. This would suggest that your doctor is obvously giving you a biased view on this medication. Maybe due to his lack of experience of MAOI drugs, or perhaps due to a belief re your management which he hasn't chosen to share with you.He/she may even be intimidated by your apparent knowledge due this board, you may know more than he/she does about MAOI use.
Since MAOI medicaton created there has not been a time when this medication has been unavailable in the UK.It has just fluctuated in its popularity due to alternative drugs on the market which don't have the dietry restrictions etc.
Time for an exploratory chat with your doctor to find out exactly why he/she expressed what they did.
If it helps to give you confidence about my above comments, and your usage of the information as a basis to discuss the topic further with your doctor, I can tell you that I have worked in adult psychiatry in UK for 24 years.
Good luck.

I had the same thought as LUKA when reading the original post. Sounds an awful lot like a hypomanic state, which i have experienced, and i would caution you to discuss this with your doc. Best of luck to you, its so wonderful to be not depression, but hypomania has its own set of problems.

hmm, i'm also picking up whiffs of hypomania here...

but i'm also of the opinion that anybody who's been depressed for a long time and been suicidal almost has a right to feel this way - for a while anyway.

going from hating life to loving life is a good thing. knowing that there is a med you can use to feel like a decent person is also important.

but now that the sky's the limit - where is the ground?

This is the end of the thread.
