Jerks at A.G. Scientific Inc. won't send Memantine

Posted by velaguff on August 6, 2002, at 14:22:23

I made a post about 8 or 10 days ago regarding how I planned to try Memantine with Tramadol, the object being to subsequently go to a doc & say, "Hey, Mem really does prevent tolerance! But I have to take too much Tram (250mg), so give me a real opiate". This sounds like a pathetically desperate ploy, but that's what I've come to, nothing works for me (even NARDIL!). I was willing to pay THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a half gram of Mem powder...that's the price! Tramadol works for only one day before tolerance develops, but I thought the Mem might help. Well, I ordered "research" Mem powder over the web from A.G. Scientific, Inc.; there were NO restrictions indicated on their site as to who could order it. Other sources on the web (for nice, neat, Merz Pharmaceutical pills, reasonably cheap) require a script, I don't have one; my doc always changes the subject when I "move his cheese" by talking about such things. Anyway, I gave them my credit card #, they sent me an order confirmation, the usual web shopping experience, no different from ordering vitamins. Then, about TEN DAYS LATER, these 'WADS send me an e-mail saying "we are pleased to sell you Memantine. However, we require a university, research institute, or corporate affiliation". I guess I could have lied, it might have worked, but having to lie to get decent treatment is HUMILIATING, and I've already suffered enough of THAT particular emotion at the hands of the psychomedical establishment. I think I'd rather die than lie, at this point. I feel fortunate to own a pistol. It's comforting to know I have that option.

You can get a nice high off of it; that's why it's hard to obtain the stuff. Think Ketamine, only better (that's how I understand it). You could try looking for another NMDA antagonist...

Sometimes when you play doctor someone may actually ask for a script.

Oracle, it's just the DELAY that bothered me

Oracle, I was fully prepared for the possibility that they might refuse the sale, even though there was no indication that they would do so on their website. Oh, but they stuck the knife in and twisted it by WAITING ten days or so to deny me. Regarding "playing doctor", allow me to say that I'm tired of doctors who are playing at being "Alice in Wonderland" doctors: It's ohhh so vital that we spare no effort in TREATING you, Mr. Velaguff. We're doctors, that's what we do. CURING you, however, is a matter of no importance.

You seemed to have missed a fact or 2

Obtaining and mailing stuff that requires a
perscription is illegal. No one is required hurry
up and tell you no.

Honestly, you seem to be treating this all like
a drug store, where you are allowed to be upset
if there is not good service.

I could live without good SERVICE, if there was good TREATMENT. So, YES, I'm fighting like a tiger to exploit all weaknesses in the system, because the SYSTEM sucks, and I'm on my own! If I can slip a buy for a prescription med past the &#$%&* gatekeepers, you better BELIEVE I will....and I encourage everyone else to do the same, whenever they think they can get away with it!

HECK YES!! Don't people realize that there are people out there ventilating their heads, that really don't care what is legal and illegal when it comes to purchasing meds? If it comes down to being dead, or a medication purchasing criminal, I'll be a criminal. A living criminal.

Based on what I read on this list, I feel most are more likly to end up hurting themsleves or killing themselves when the "roll their own" mental illness medical treatment. We all end up paying when someone hurts themselves doing this.
