I know this info is in various threads, but was hoping to get it in one place.

what's your dx?
what's your dose?
at what dose did it kick in, and after how long?

I take Lamictal 100 mgs. a day (50 in the morning and 50 at night). I also take Remeron 30 mgs. and a small dose of Risperdal. The Lamictal has kept my moods from swinging and I haven't had any side effects from it (which is a rarity for me, LOL!)

DX: Cyclothymia
Dose: Used to be 125-150 mgs but went down to 100 mgs b/c of bloating
Kick in: I really felt it right away, at 25 mgs...I don't know if that was
just a placebo affect or what, but it seems like I felt better really quick with it.
Other Drugs: Zoloft

Hey-
Dx is Bi-polar.
Dose right now is 350. I know, it sounds high but I'm on 1000 mg Tegretol/day and apparently the Teg can (I can't remember what my pdoc said exactly) decrease the effectiveness of the Lamictal. I wasn't getting any better at lower doses (even after weeks of waiting-argh!) so he's ramping it up...thinks it was a subtherapeutic dose for me.

I've been on it for probably 2 and a half months...have just started to notice a real difference in the depression (haven't been manic since I started Teg long ago...)since I started with 350 Lamictal.

Also take .075 Synthroid. Of all antidepressants for now...doc thinks they've been increasing my cycling...

Good luck!
Kar

I take 350 mg/day. Have been gradually going up because it seemed to lose effectiveness. I noticed the effect almost immediately and have been in much better shape since I started taking it.

Diagnosis: Chronic Major Depression(unipolar, atypical) Also severe social phobia. Been on lamictal since Jan. 1, started at 6.25 mg, now on 175 mg. Also take trazodone clonazepam, celexa(weaning off the celexa). No sign of any benefit so far-I guess I`ll keep going up until side effects become intolerable, though I`m getting close to that point now-can`t imagine getting to the 400 mg suggested by Dr. Goldberg. But I`ve invested so much time in weaning up on this stuff I want to hang on as long as I can-there isn`t anything else new to try anyway. Cecilia

...Just started taking Lamictal a few days ago. I'm currently taking Celexa, Seroquel & Wellbutrin. I've been on & off meds for about 8 years, but was only recently diagnosed as bi-polar...(i've had a tendancy to gloss over the manic aspects in therapy). Hasn't kicked in yet but I'm pretty hopeful.

Bipolar II and ADD. . .plus some other health issues.

250mg. . . may be only 225mg now, not sure yet.

About 150mg. . .and, maybe three weeks, I increased *verrry* slowly, to avoid rash and so as to tolerate it well.

Effexor 225mg, Dexedrine 10mg, Ativan .5mg, Provigil 150mg (or 200mg, if I divide the dose) . . .plus hormones, thyroid T3 and T4, and various minerals and supplements.

You're welcome!
Zo
