Celexa and Anger

Posted by maggie on September 30, 2000, at 22:43:58

Everytime I try to increase my new med, Celexa, as I've been advised to do........my ANGER, irritability and irrational behavior really increase. I am flying off the handle at everything and nothing.
At a lower dose, the reaction is tempered, but still somewhat there.
Have you guys heard of this?

heard of it... NO

Yes it happened to me along with mood lability... lasted about 2 wks or so.

It also happened to me with zoloft & was worse...

It has been reported with prozac.

I discussed this with my shrink at the time. She had heard of it with prozac but not celexa...

My guess is that it is possible with any of the SSRIs

I've been on Celexa for about 4 months now and it may have tempered my anger only slightly and that's about it. Nothing real drastic. It's done wonders for my anxiety though. Sorry about the effect on you. Hopefully it's only a temporary side effect.
