Cold-blooded quivers
Of a bludgeoned Bass
Suffocating gills
Stunned fear from what is
Inevitable
Like her childhood
Inferno of truth.

Thick-skinned emotions
Scream in agony
While EMDR strips
Her life's protection.

Desensitizing
Her securities
Like cleaning a fish
Scale by scale alive.

Can she still survive
Her exposed feelings
Like a flopping fish
With it's head cut off ?

Will her raw brain fry
When she faces her
past like a fish's
Final gasp of hope?
