Hello out there...

Posted by hiddenhurt on June 4, 2008, at 17:57:39

Hello out there
You pixel-gazing fellow moon
Among countless moons, out of sight
In far-flung orbit around this bright-lit
World Wide Web,
Never to land,
Reading these
Letters lined up in light
A partial sum
In one long equation that
= me (= you).
Friend moon,
I'm so lonely
For you
So lonely--
Do you remember
When you could feel that kind of loneliness
Like "never coming back"
And you cried all out
Who you missed them that much?
So do I
miss you
You never-to-meet-me-kindred-spirit
Aligned but briefly
As I eclipse you just briefly
And we pass.
I miss your what-you-call-it ... "spark"
The one we share
The one that just right now
Brings us here;
We must share (mustn't we?)
Hidden
Beneath the wearisome graces
"How are you"s and "I'm fine"s
Strewn limp as used tissues
Adrift
On barren social seas
(What if I do know you,
Someone you'd never suspect,
And you know me?)
We must,
We must share something.
Oh, but
Who goes below
the surface
If their ship is strong,
Down into the blue-sun-filtered home
Of bright fin-flashes, tail flicks,
Down into the deep waters
Of goggle-eyed denizens'
Shadowy sinister prowls,
Down, down below, down to the wreck,
Who, if their hull is strong,
Visits the once-sea-traveller, now broke
Heaped in wrong order,
Rusting in murky silt cloud,
Beneath a life-opposing oppressive gloomy heft:
Who?
Who dives into the wreck, but you,
But you
And me,
Never to show above the sea,
This soul-kiss
We share never
Here.

(I'd come up with a better response than that if I had the brain power right now, because I think it deserves it, but I am spent)
