fear

How do you explain the fear?
Its wide open with no end.
There is no safety in this fear.
No hope.
All else is gone.
Everything.
All that is good.
All that remains,
Is the fear.
All encompassing, endless, hopeless
Fear.
That’s what she feels in words.
In the body its again different.
The skin surface is electrified.
Ripples of tension.
The body tissue inside is gone.
All that is left is nausea.
The brain tissue spins off into space.
Just a shell.
An electrified shell of terror.
That spins,
Faster
Faster,
Faster.
Till there is nothing.
Rapid spinning imagery.
Then nothing.
Nothing at all.
Gone.
Too much, too much.

This is never far from my heart.....

"What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow
Out of this stony rubbish? Son of man,
You cannot say, or guess, for you know only
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust."

I've been around so long I'm repeating myself.
