How much we loved you
In your borrowed time

Sweet little princess
With the beaming smile
You only stayed here
For such a short while

Only long enough
For you to give
God’s special gift
Of your precious love

It hurts while we wait here
in emptiness and pain
We try to imagine
What we cannot explain

Minutes aren’t ours here
And time runs its course
With or without you
For better or worse

We wait for the day
When we’ll see your face
Where forever is real
Not some faraway place

In our pining hearts
Your love will remain
This world will never
Be quite the same
