A Rorschach Blot Puddle

Posted by Atticus on November 19, 2006, at 18:49:09

A Rorchach blot puddle
In the valley of an alley
Trails fetid steam tendrils
Between chipped bricks,
And funky junkie poets
Read meanings in the blobs
Wondering if it’s all
Hallocigenic tricks,
Curls of surreal
Amid paint as it peels
Are always good for
A few moment’s kicks,
And graffiti across
Sacrosanct asphalt halls
Becomes scripture that to
The fluid brain sticks.

I puzzle if it all
Adds up to a message
That my simple mind
Just can’t see,
But then I lose focus
Amid all the hocus-pocus
And I just decide
To let it all be.

I ask a man on a bench
In a coat of many colors
If this tableau adds
Up to very much,
He looks at me as if
I’m crazy which is
Close to the truth and
Offers a gentle touch,
Asks just what it is
I’m looking to find
To soothe a mind
That seeks to clutch,
The secret world beneath
The world before me
And asks me what
I’m trying to touch.

I puzzle if it all
Adds up to a message
That my simple mind
Just can’t see,
But then I lose focus
Amid all the hocus-pocus
And I just decide
To let it all be.

That is SO cool.
Can I show it to others?
I work with street people, and i know some who would love it.

Hullo. It would be my pleasure if you shared it with as many people as you wished, muffled. It would also be an honor if you would communicate with me in the future on this thread. Atticus

**I liked the 'snuffed out by a passing trucks tire' part too.
I will share your words if you don't mind.
It takes a certain person to see what you see.
I can't stay on writing board too long Atticus, as I find it rather triggering. But sometimes I come here to let loose some stuff inside. I hope I have never offended you in my writings.
I will peek to see your work from time to time.
The way you can see, and put it into words is so amazing, so real, so raw. Its very refreshing to me. Most people never see the wonders that are there to be seen, they just see the dirt and trash, and are afraid.
Take care,
Muffled

Hullo, KK,
I've had many prose magazine articles published, but never any poems. I'm not adverse to the idea -- it simply hadn't occurred to me previously, I suppose. Ta. Atticus

Sorry---the question was not directed at your work--but rather a pitiful attempt to rhyme. Thanks.
