Sometimes you just feel like a crouton

Posted by llrrrpp on June 16, 2006, at 20:15:15

I actually don't like croutons. I always ask for my salad with no croutons. I tried to make croutons once, from nice crusty French bread. Still not a big fan. I like bread, I like toast, I like all things baked. With only one exception: croutons.

But everyonce in a while, I think to myself- maybe I should give croutons another shot.

There's one kind of crouton I've found that I like a lot. It's pretty special. Not always available in my area. I've tried to make similar crouton myself, because the place I get the croutons is usually too busy on the weekends. Mixed Prairie greens with Sage grouse and herbed croutons. whole weed croutons. But it's just not the same. I can't even begin to try to approximate the inventiveness and originality of that particular crouton. Oh well, have to wait until a weekday, I suppose.
