saying goodbye

Posted by llrrrpp on June 14, 2006, at 22:29:26

What if something that used to be good for you is now hurting you? Would you be able to deny the positive history you shared and cut it loose?

What if you hurt so bad that you wanted to say good bye, for good. The only thing keeping you alive was your personal mantra of never hurting others?

What if you hated conflict so bad that you learned to run away and wait until you cooled down. Maybe you never cooled down to confront it, so you internalized the rage instead?

What if the people you thought knew you so well were capricious. What if their neglect hurt you more than their presence helped you?

What if you hated being alone. But the only way to survive was to be an island; how could you bear it?

What if the only way to get better were to get worse? What if the only way to get worse were to hurt more? What if the only way to hurt worse were to die? What if the only way to give yourself a treat were to punish yourself? How would you keep going?

What if you were the only person ever?

I would just do the right thing for myself and say goodbye in such a case.

For example:
If Babble was good for me at first, but is now more harmful to me than good, then I would responsibly choose to move on with my life. Onto more helpful things.
