Something came over me this afternoon, and I packed up my homework and took off. I went to a cafe and got a nice iced tea. Then I went to the lake, and walked along the shore for a couple of miles. Here are my reflections.
Peace is colored azure
I walk to the edge of the water and look down, to see my reflection
In vain
Because the water was so choppy as to be matte
Looking at the reflection, the details could not be resolved
Because the water was so choppy as to be matte
My silhouette was obscured, through silt and foam
But though my reflection was invisible, the reflection of peace was there
It was the sky, in the water, and it was azure
A dark splendid teal, that darkened
Almost inperceptibly to form a crisp line at the horizon
And the sky, that was a transparent blue of infinite depth that lightened
Almost inperceptibly to form a crisp line at the horizonThe distant is perfect, though the nearest edge is dirty and full of trash
There is objective boundary; the lake is continuous
The boundary is perspective and defined unfairly by one's visual field
Intent downward focus, and the view is disturbing
Look out and away and there is perfection all around
This is the end of the thread.
