I wrote this today while I was lying in bed waiting for my two-year-old daughter to join me for a nap. These are the kinds of moments I hope I never forget.
ProofI wait, silent and still in the dusk,
under billowy covers
listening for proof of tiny footsteps.
First, an unsteady landing,
then a gallop, a sprint, a leap;
a warm full kiss, wet upon my cheek.

AWWWWW- makes me wish I had a baby of my own sometimes. AWWW- what a beautiful poem Colleen. It is good you can have such positive writings going through a divorce nonetheless. Looking forward to more of your writings. May you have many wonderfully blessed days with your family :) Chelle

I studied poetry in college, but have never written much that I thought was interesting enough to share. Thanks for your kind words.

I hope you share more. It was very sweet.
It is sort of scary to share our stuff, isn't it?

That is beautiful. It brings tears here, to my eyes, remembering those sweet moments. God, there could never have been enough of them. They have gone too swiftly, too quickly to be believed. How did this happen? Please write more, you write beautifully, joyfully.
