Somewhere in love

My friends all say you're no good
that I should try and forget
but they don't know who they're talking to
cause I haven't been here since we met

I'm somewhere in love
but you're no where around
I was just inside the city limits
as you were leaving town

tried to make me feel a fool
but that didn't bother me
one thing they don't teach in school
there's no lie that time can't see

still I'm somewhere in love
but you're nowhere to be found
I'm just trying to rise above
the thought of you casting me down

so this is your chance to show if you care
the last hill's before us, and I hope you'll be there
the moon is looking uncertain tonight
but through the clouds, I can still see some light

and I think I'll stay here in love
it's not as bad as it may sound
for the prize that I search for
is way down the road
and the reward is worth the ground

that's so lovely, it's heartwarming and comforting, but for the touch of despair .. too much like real life, life not really lived in hope, giving up hope for beauty, the beauty of despair .. how can despair be anything but ugly? How can you make it so sad, so deserving of desire ...?
