A whispered thought shows your next journey will soon begin
Another adventure in this life that you wonder if you can win
Remembering those times past when you lost your mental grip
Fearful of being another lost soul adrift on another ghostly ship
To many times you would hide behind excuses that were fake
With the first step so often being the hardest of all for us to take
So you stand there exposed to the world at the edge of a chasm
Your palms getting sweaty and your back starting to spasm
Doubts cloud your thoughts as your stomach knots with fear
Wishing with all your might that everything would just disappear
But life being as it is you know inside that will never be the case
The harder you try to escape the more life is shoved in your face
Then standing there you realize that you don’t want to run anymore
It is time for you to take the first step in your life's eternal war
With Love and Faith as your companion and your best friend
By taking that First Step you are the true winner in the end
