A lifetime spent searching for the stranger I've always known
My soul mate of the ages through the countless lives we've grown
I can feel her spirit calling to me from all points on earth
The radiant love from her soul gives this life such worth
And although in my life I have committed many a crime
When I find forgiveness inside we will be together for all time
But I wonder if we will know each other when we first meet?
Will we see the truth in each other's eyes or shallow deceit?
And as much as I desire finding that true love in my life
History has instilled that fear of the daily battle with mental strife
Or will true love of my soul mate be like a blessing from above
Able to see beyond my human failings with unconditional love?
I felt us together once in a peacefully faceless, blunted dream
Two spirits travelling as one through eternity eating ice cream
The path around us both smooth and twisted and full of rubble
But our pure love for each other protected us in a peaceful bubble
Hand in hand we are more than ready to make our own fate
Our love for each other and life itself protecting us from jealousy or hate
The only thing I have to admit with the slightest bit of shame
Is that during this dream I never had the chance to learn her name

it's a rare thing to find her/him. cherish those feelings, even if only a dream.
