I Saw a Star
i was a withered old thing. grey hair, wrinkles that hide my face, my eyes were failing, my speech was too. i had not much to look forward to.
my sleep was intermitten, my days and nights blend.
my appetite is gone, my weight gets lower and lower, see a trend?
i have no family. i did
i pushed them from my life
i delt with my pain and tried to pull them back-they denied me.
they denied me then, history repeats they say
i never found my way.
i wavered to and fro like a tree
one after one they said you'll find your place.
where do i belong?
i've asked this as long as my mind can remember.
i'm feeling weaker, down hearted too
i'm drained but it's almost to the end of december
my love kept me warm when the chill of life decended.
my heart now grown cold. my dear ones gone
i am left alone
i stare up high into the night sky. i ask
i ask why?
why am i here where i've never belonged
and my dear ones that fit are now gone?
please, i begged one last time
please take my soul, take me home.
i've been waiting paitently to go home, since
i've expereienced the levels of life.
the weakness and strength, sorrow and joy, anger and forgiveness,
and i found companionship,
i know companionship only briefly only to be ripped away.
now another gone from my heart
please tell me there are no more 'souls to touch'
i'm' ready to end,
to go, not stay.
i look for my guide, i hear nothing
i see, nothing.
"WHERE ARE YOU" i screamed
"PLEASE! Take me home! i don't belong!"Through tear-filled eyes i see a shimmer
from the night sky
a twist of light, why?My answer was a star.
a simple and complex star.
so distant yet so connected to it all
'when time is right'
what is time?
it's not time, it's lifeI saw a star.

Why did this make me feel so sad and like crying? I wanted the star to come down and give you such a wonderful and loving hug, then wipe my eyes. Although it really wasn't, part of me felt as if you were writing about my own life and thoughts.

hi maynerd (g. gibbs?)
i am so glad you 'got' the writing.
the last few i've done really mix the light and dark, and are filled with ambivalence, which sometimes gives me an empty feeling.thank you for your kind words.
