Just counting, if possible. If anyone's here.
It's Christmas Eve... very soon.
Some people will have families together.
There will be real candles burning on real trees, and some families will be having turkey already, and others will open their "presents" tonight. Some won't be celebrating the 24th at all, in any way differently than any other day.
And some will be quietly celebrating alone, like me.
It's .. how to trust yourself, alone? With the phone, and nothing else. Movies? Books? Gift-wrapping? Baking for tomorrow? Preparing for the morning, when the children will be here, ready to open their gifts .. doing that sewing that should have been done last month, but now will have to be crammed into an all-nighter, or not done at all.
What are you doing tonight? Anyone there???
