“poverty of the moment”
I leave the house, craving reality
Feverish, raw fingertips close to all I feel
He stands there, we have the store, the dark outline standing there in the crisis cold
And then the wilds, the rocks
Does he go through bouts of unreality as he says hello
To everyoneBeginning to snow, bad weather for begging
No friend of mine, but I gave some coins,
I wonder if I will find myself pissing side by side
In remote corners of the transit system with him- I could cease to function with
Terrible ease, and there is alcohol in his eyes, fog in mine.Snow falls heavier, a cloud draping the lights-
Should I have given a dollar- I feel inner fog
Blur schedules, cause the places I have to be
As lights across the park, from Woodlawn-Abnegation, the lights are disappearing
Beneath a cloud of snow

very nice z.....you cracked me up with the use of the word "Pissing" in there, though...hehehe.
no seriously...this is very good. and intelligent.
you know what i wish...that all us babblers (or a couple of us) could get together and recite poetry like in "the dead poet's society". sorry..that was off topic.

thanks alesta-
I was actually surprised it didn't automatically asterisk the word out, and I haven't turned the asterisking *off* (or on, but it's a default option).the word connects with one of those things I always think about- as reality fades away for me- during fever I become increasingly unreal (that's how I feel) but the simpler bodily functions have an incontestable reality about them. Nietzche said that we would be gods, except for the fact that we have intestines. My intestines are in sufficiently poor condition for this epigram to really hit home :-)
i would love to recite poetry with you and other babblers.
