that's happy being sad

She's a runaway
running from the girl she longs to be

she's running into tragedy

she's running from the wild
she's running from the tame
she's the only girl I know
afraid to stay the same

She's a runaway
running from the girl she longs to be

she's running from any close ties
she's running with dry eyes
she's the only girl I know
that tells the truth when she lies

She's a runaway
running from the girl she longs to be

she's running from rejection
she's running from desire
she's the only girl I know
that can freeze out a fire

runaway
just to watch is killing me
she's gonna runaway
thinks she's got a lead on misery
she'll never getaway
she's running into destiny.

It was written to be a song(back in my band days)---and I've known more than one runaway.
