The Ache of Longing Unrequited

Posted by AdaGrace on October 4, 2005, at 20:36:07

My body yearns to be touched by your agile fingers.
I long to be taken to the summit of perfection that only you can provide.

I burn inside to have your presence near me.
I need you, I want you, I ache for you.

Nothing compares to the feeling of your body
stretched next to mine.
Nightly I dream of you, daily I morn your absence.

I cannot comprehend the emptyness,
I can only depend upon the memories of your smell.

When will you return?
When can I feel your fingertips on my skin?
When will I once again know the pleasure of your power?

I'll wait forever for that perfection.
I'll yearn for eternity for that bliss.
If only I could have received one last kiss.
If only I could have felt you deep inside me, forever to remember the presence of the man that holds my heart in the palm of his hands.......

Time heals the wounds that no one can see. Hope that pain's icy fingers let go of you soon.

I am holding those icy fingers in my own firm grip. Refusing to let go, denying time's healing. No matter what we say or do, there is nothing like the feeling of wallowing in self pity, and yet, I find comfort in it. Comfort in familiarity. Letting go, I cannot. I refuse to move forward. I am afraid of not caring anymore. I'm cold enough as it is.

There is no pain so great as the memory of joy in present grief.

I know all about unrequited love. Want to talk? wacalice@aol.com

I've been "living there" (unrequited love) for almost 3 years.
