living in SIN

Posted by cockeyed on September 20, 2005, at 19:10:47

My mom kicked me out of the house.

Dutifull Irish catholic boy turned into a louse
I'd started running around with a divorced french woman with two kids and a divorce still runnin'

We broke the bed in my attic bedroom
And good old Jackie boy was kicked out of his happy home.

My best friend told me if kept it up and yes I
did, he'd never talk to me again.

But we wound up sort of friends again until
he put a shot gun to his head. the end.

And now my rumbustious french broad and me
sit watching mysteries on TV. And it's a
race who'll go to sleep first, her or me.

And this junk i write can not ever merit
the gift she gave me: a life and a chance to
live it.

My beloved step-son died in my arms
He was gay and now he's for the worms.

But I've got three step-grand kids to bust'em
off
When grampa's babysitting, all reins are off.

And thank you dear lord for letting me live in
sin
Cause I now live in a home that I want to live in
Yeah, love to go out and run around
But when she comes home I want to be right here
right on this ground.

I'd be nothing but dead if she were'nt around
to make me pick up my underwear and put the
detergent back where it can be found.

All, in all, not much of a tribute to the wife
who chose me, despite my insistence that we had
to marry I'm an Irish boy after all
had to please my mommy

and wouldn't you know they became fast friends
and busted 'em off on me without end.

But, Christ it was fun, livin' in sin
we were younger then, broke the rules,
broke my bed and dear god thank you.

blasting to NYC in her Dodge Charger
or me is my VW, all tires bare, the better
to fly faster

and now it seems too fast to even conceive
now our secret excitement is watching Jacques Pepin

And I still remember our songs but it's hard to
believe we once ran around just like kids way
back then.
Cockeyed
And if I got the chance, I'd do it all over
again.
