The dream

I had a dream last night
and you were holding me so tight
yeah, but it was just a dream
and so are we, so it would seem

it was just a dream
that may never be
but while I was asleep
it was real to me

I pulled you from a crowd
the music was fast and loud
you offered no resistance
as they faded in the distance

it was just a dream
not reality
but while I was asleep
it was real to me

then you put me in a spell
so that I would never tell
the way that you caressed me
totally possessed me

it was just a dream
yes, a fantasy
but while I was asleep
it was real to me
