bothering to think

Wonder why we give a damn about
this and that and where the hell
it's all going.
is it going anyplace
except 'round and 'round
and why it's worth knowing
where things wind up
not to mention
where thy're going.

I suspect I'm going nowhere
or is my vanity just showing?
Still I've got this goddamn ache
to figure out at least
a coupla things worth knowing

Sleepygirl, how can we know? Maybe like dogs it's just better to smell. But I know those bastards have got me racked...I'm dog-sitting.
They train us, not the other way around.
Okay, I'm a sucker for that look in their eyes. But they have their own agenda when they're with their kind of guys.
And I haven't a clue what that means. I've been trying to talk to swallows who've bogarted our garage beams. And now the monk parakeets.
They answer, it seems. So, what is thinking really about? 'specially when it goes askew?
tell, the truth I prefer song lyrics. And now I've forgotten why. Gonna have to write me a song to remind me why. Why do we sing, and try to make sense. A cheap rhyme: coincidence.
With a world that's a big blue zoo. Maybe thinking is our part of god. But I ain't got no clue. cockeyed.
