about love

Posted by cockeyed on July 18, 2005, at 0:19:14

Wish I could write about love
I mean that place that is so far above
our usual plod, day after day.
Oh to rise so high and nothing to say.
I've known it once or twice
but mostly the vacuum
when your heart is sucked dry
and your soul, god help you,
it's a place in hell's room
where you burn with a hatred for someone
other than you.
thought I'd forgotten the pain
but I keep journals and I've read thru
my fight for my wife.
Christ, thought I'm crazy now but...
Hey, I'll but me no buts, I fought for her love
and we watch TV together and we chatter
above, the stupid sound track,
so much for our love.
we're old friends now...
But I remember the force that drove me to Frenzy
I was just like a horse,
a young stallion in heat
god, I loved her, loved her

now I look back on my journals again,
and, thank you jesus, I feel it again
oh the sweetness and the writhing in pain
And god bless us, I'd do it again.
{this is my love poem. I'd forgotten the pain, and the exaltation when we broke my bed, way back when.} cockeyed.

Man, what can I say. There are times I'm so in awe of your writing.
