Death
What once was
fades all too soon.
People become ghosts
haunting the minds of the living,
tears falling fast,
before turning into memories
that quietly lose impact
with each falling grain of time.
These memories then die
with the frail human forms
that grieved so sincerely
but cannot refuse
their own call to eternal darkness. It's all so sad.

is it sad, or do the memories fade in order to allow those left to regain some sort of peace?
Very beautiful poem. My gut reaction (above) was grabbed just by a single line of desperation after a lovely telling of the tale of death...pretty powerful stuff.
You are a very talented writer.
