Circles

Posted by alexandra_k on March 21, 2005, at 1:02:02

You know
The world does not give a f*ck about you
Living from week to week
Fortnight to fortnight
Hand to mouth
If you save
Then you don't get assistance that you would get
If you hadn't bothered
If you work
Then you don't get assistance that you would get
If you hadn't bothered
So why do you do it again?
Oh yeah
'Cause you don't like handouts
So you work
And drive yourself crazy
Trying to be f*cking normal
When you can't
Trying to pretend that it doesn't affect you
When the pressure gets too much.
Till you explode
And have to crawl your way back out
What was the point again?
Its all f*cking set up anyways
To preserve those who are acceptable
Average parents
Who moderately care
Enough to give the odd handout
To save your *ss
When the government assistance doesn't come through
As it invariably doesn't.
Average kid
Who worked moderately in high school
Enough to score reasonably well
On the standardised tests
That predict whether you will succeed or not
And by thus predicting make it so
Working partner
Parents
Self
To pay for the therapy
That is supposed to help
When the people who aren't well enough to earn that much
Who aren't well enough to be cared about by people who make that much
Well...
They aren't committed enough I suppose.
You are supposed to die out anyways
Find some little corner of the world to curl up in
So they don't have to look at you
To acknowledge your existance
And round and round you f*cking go
And how am I supposed to stop
These Circles in my head.
?
I don't know.
Time to take the f*cking pills.

Hope it helps a tiny, tiny bit - for that one hour or even a few minutes, to write here.

'cause I guess sometimes that's all there is to do.

write
cry
scream
curse
sleep
<<<<rewind
start again...
hold on tight, you'll make it (((((Alex))))

my heart hurts for you - that I can't help somehow... :-(

yeah,
how do i hate handouts
need them
despise them
the only ones i will accept now are from my parents
because they owe me big time

my mom is overjoyed that i am going to go stay with her for the summer

a chance to make up for the hell she put me through as a kid

so i accept her handout
so that, at the end, i can stand on my own two feet

Yes yes yes
Thats the spirit :-)
I don't have a problem with government assistance either.
Teachers
Neighbours
Should have done something.
But they didn't.
Societies f*ck up
And I'll take my government handout thanks very much.

I like your thoughts. They resonate with truth. Sucks though.

Hiya. I just saw your post :-)

Yup. Just like the poem you posted.
It resonates with truth.
And it sucks.
That things have to be that way.
:-(
