I suppose a simple "B*llocks!" or "Jesus wept!" or "ffffffffffffffffffffff*ck!" just wasn't up to the task this time, eh? That last one is my own favorite. You get that great long sussuraton of the "f," like a building wave about to break, and when it does, it's on a hard shoal of sharp consonants like "c" and "k." Plus, it can build in intensity and volume until the volcano finally erupts and spits out the "ck." F*ck. Great curse word. Great activity. It's like the bloody Swiss army knife of the English language. It can express anything. Now aren't you a bit ashamed for treating it so shabbily, Doc? ;) Atticus

I am ok. I had a rave over on admin. And on psychology.

I will probably have another tonight.

Hello Sabrina, I haven't chatted to you for a bit.
Hiya Broken :-)

Good afternoon Alexandra.. I even used that exclamation myself a time or two this morning. It didn't fix my problem, but Atticus is correct, it worked on so many other different levels.
Swiss Army Knife indeed..

hey alexandra k,

when are you going to make me think really hard again? all the posts about delusions, how is that project going? i can't remember if you are going for your doctorate or masters. which is it?

i am really enjoying my outpatient intensive therapy. we have cognitive behavioral therapy (you already know my beef with that), art therapy, stress and relaxation technique training, goals group, etc. the cog behavioral stuff--it is helping with my perfectionism and depression but not totally. that is because i am in a bad situation and it can't change the situation. all it can do is help me not get overwhelmed so i can get out of the situation. in the meantime, i am going to feel anxious and depressed--there is no way around that.

anyway, what did you ever find out about going to the hospital? or, maybe you posted it on psych board--i will look there. hope you feel better!

SM
