I come to you in the darkness of night with open arms and naked flesh.
Reaching out, pressing myself to you, my skin hot with desire.
You're eager to awaken and feed upon your need.
Our bodies mold together, fingers dancing on firy skin.
We touch without talking, we feel but don't say it.
The familiarity of this game we know and words are unecessary.
Your hands and your lips slide upon my skin intensifying my desire and I soar even higher.
But soon you take without giving, forgetting where you are.
Body once again controlling mind.
Using and abusing the gift given so freely.
I know what is happening and I cannot stop it, simply hoping you'll realize what I need, but cannot say.
It's already too late, you're feeling and not thinking......I lay there in the darkness aching for that summit.
Tears come so easy, with that familiar unspent feeling.
I cry silently as you roll over and go to sleep.
I wonder if you even knew that it was me.The sun shines brightly through the window the next morning.
Your smile is in those crystal blue eyes.
I look at you and wonder if you know that I'm alive, but yet so very empty inside.
You kiss me gently on the cheek as you walk towards the door.
The words on your lips said so many times before.
"Last night was great Baby, we should do that more often"

Hi AG,
I like this piece, the actors seem so real. Many of us identify with unrequited love (and as you so ably illustrate, unrequited lust). I'm ashamed to admit that I also identify with the guy.

Looking deep into a lover's eyes and realizing that those eyes don't see beyond the surface. To be "intimate" without true intimacy -- it's a terrible feeling. Atticus

i could really relate to this poem. how many times--i can't count them, does it feel like i had something taken instead of given. and the "lover" so completely oblivious. it really hurts. great poem! it brought out a lot in me.

Or was your tongue in your cheek?
Is that you happy to see me?

It's so very sad when someone has so much to offer and it isn't even needed.........
