seclusion

Seclusion turned her into a genius
She found she didn't need to leave the room for anything
Smoked to hone her reflexes
Made eye contact every ten minutes
Took her meals my hypodermic
And took nothing seriously anymore
She was living in a euphemism
She had no problems really.

If it stank she could flush
If she wanted variety she could stand up
If she wanted attention she could semaphore or mime
But after a time she hardly wanted anything
Except a pair of bootlaces once
And a better understanding of the causal theory of minds.
She's a nihilist (the new kind)
Sort of.
She asks a lot of questions

Everybody is there because they want to be there
Until they want to leave when they can't
Everybody takes their medication because they want to take it
Until they want to stop when they can't

Neurones fired in her head one day
Brainsparkles
Pinhead supernovas
On his way into her mind serotonin dragged his feet
Drooled
Stopped to chat to a friend
For seventy five years.
She got tired waiting for him
Took the twelve fourty five to town
On Monday instead.

JW. My soul mate.
We are too much alike
We compound our mutual flaws.
We drag each other down
And hold each other back.
We do not want each other to be well
Because then we would be alone with our flaws.
You are and always will be my soul mate.
But I need someone who makes me want to get better
And that is what you deserve too.
I wish you love and happiness and health.
I wish we could walk together
But we cannot walk without clinging
And begging the other to carry us for a while.
I love you.
