Lost

Posted by saw on September 23, 2004, at 6:58:09

I tried to kill the pain
But only brought more
I lay dying
And I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
I'm dying praying bleeding and screaming
Am I too lost to be saved?
Am I too lost?

I thought my life was a lost cause the day I almost ended it this past June with a box-cutter. But I don't think we're ever permanently lost. I know, that's scant comfort when you're flailing in the abyss. But let me ask you a question that would help me to understand your situation better, if you're willing. If you could have anything in the world -- besides a permanent cure for all mental illness, which we both want but, I've accepted, I'm never going to get -- what would it be? Atticus

Hi Atticus

I would want my husband to be with me forever and also to understand me and my illness. I didn't get like this on purpose!

No, none of us got like this on purpose. We were dealt a bad hand, no doubt about it. I guess I'm at the point where I'm learning to play the cards I'm holding as best I can; I'm no longer wishing for a straight royal flush because that just ain't coming. For me it's now all about developing strategies for getting the most out of what I was given. Atticus
